Yoga - Ilkley - Weds 7pm - May
Midlife Yoga Circle - 3 week block
What to expect ...
Three Wednesday evenings in Ilkley for bodies that spend too much time sitting, driving, working at a desk, or simply keeping up with life. By the middle of life, many of us know our bodies a little differently. It might be the hips that feel stiff after too much sitting. The back that starts to grumble by the end of the day. The shoulders and neck that seem to hold on to more tension than they used to. Sometimes it is not one big problem, just the quiet accumulation of ordinary life in the body — work, driving, screens, stress, tiredness, and the habit of carrying on. Midlife Reset is a short three-week course designed with that in mind. Across three Wednesday evenings, we’ll work with steady, accessible yoga to help care for the parts of the body that often ask for attention first in midlife. Each session has its own focus, but together they offer a simple arc: easing stiffness, improving support and balance, and finishing with a slower evening to help you properly settle. This is not about pushing harder, performing poses, or trying to force your body into shapes it does not want. It is about giving your body something useful: movement that helps, breathing that steadies, and time to slow down. There will also be sound-supported rest woven in, so that each evening ends in a way that feels calm rather than demanding. You do not need to be especially flexible or experienced. You just need a body that would appreciate a different kind of care. The three evenings 6 May — Hips, Back and Shoulders For the stiffness and tension that build up through sitting, driving, desk work, and everyday life. 13 May — Strength, Balance and Support in Midlife Focused on steadiness, leg strength, balance, and the kind of support that becomes more important as we reach midlife. Where are the classes? My studio space is above Shampoodle and Groom (dog grooming) which is within South Hawksworth Street car park right in middle of Ilkley. We are right next to Bath House and the Eme fabrics hut - 21b Brook Street, Ilkley, LS29 8AA. Look for the large green shop sign with the white dog’s head. Please come into the grooming shop, and I'll be upstairs. What do I need to bring? I provide all yoga mats, bricks, blocks and blankets, but you are welcome to bring your own familiar items if you wish. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows a full range of movement. There is complementary herbal teas (and tap water) but you may wish to bring your own water bottle.8
