Sound Bath

In Person

A sound bath is a relaxation experience that involves being immersed in the soothing sounds of various instruments that produce harmonious frequencies that resonate throughout the body, inducing a state of deep calm.

This isn’t just some wellness ‘woo-woo’ - scientific research suggests that we respond to sound vibration at a cellular level, and recent US study has found that experiencing a sound bath may help you reduce stress and anxiety.

After your sound bath you will be able to…

  • Switch off stress and switch on calm — after your sound bath you’ll be able to feel your nervous system deeply reset, leaving you calmer and more centred.

  • Find mental clarity with ease — you’ll be able to quiet the noise of your thoughts and slip into a peaceful, meditative state without effort.

  • Let go of what you’ve been carrying — you’ll be able to release layers of tension—physical, mental, and emotional—that you may not even realise you were holding.

  • Step back into life refreshed — you’ll be able to return to your day lighter, clearer, and re-energised, as though you’ve had the most restorative rest.

Events throughout the Yorkshire region.

Further Information

What do I need to bring to a sound bath relaxation?

Bring your yoga mat, a pillow, blanket and a bottle of water - an eye mask is also a good option.

You'll be laying down for the duration of the sound bath, so if you suffer from any lower back issues, I recommend bringing an extra pillow or rolled up towel to place under your knees.

Dress warmly, with extra layers and thick socks - be as comfortable as possible.

I recommend having only a light meal beforehand.

Please arrive in good time to settle yourself into the space.

Is a sound bath suitable for all ages?

The Yoga Company reserve the right to request that all participants are aged 14 or over.

Please contact me if you wish to book Sound Relaxation for anyone under 14, and I can discuss your specific requirements.

Contraindications

It is extremely rare for anyone to have an adverse reaction to sound relaxation. It is categorised as a low risk complimentary therapy. However, I feel it is good practice to provide the following information.

As a precaution, I advise that you do not listen to binaural beats audio, or take part in an in person sound bath session if any of the following apply to you:

  • If you are in the first trimester of pregnancy.

  • If you have any cardiac implants (pacemaker).

  • If you have epilepsy, or experience seizures.

  • If you have unmanaged mental health issues (general stress, anxiety, depression are fine, and may even be helped by the sound relaxation).

  • If you suffer from severe tinnitus.

If you are unsure about any of the above, or have any further questions, please contact me directly and I can discuss your personal situation.
